Sushi Dolls #2

Hello, sweet friends!
Before I get into sharing about the project I have for you today, I really need to thank you all for the super sweet comments you've been leaving me! I appreciate your love and encouragement so much! :o)
I also have a little note about my last post, and most recent Scripture Challenge page. I totally forgot to mention that the words to the song were typed out on a "new to me" vintage manual typewriter that I received from my soon-to-be SIL. It's fabulous! However, I'm so spoiled with my soft-touch laptop keyboard that I'm going to have to really work on building up some finger muscles before I can pound those keys properly! lol One note to those who actually did read the hymn words...I found out AFTER typing the first verse that the apostrophe didn't work. Then for the rest of the song I actually left a space so I could add the apostrophe by hand. Of course I forgot to do that before I took the photo! lol No, you don't need to go and inspect it now...I just needed to point that out to those of you who thought I didn't know how to spell! haha

Okay...on to today's project. I have a new card for you using another Sushi Doll digi! This one is called "Ryan and Susi" and it's one of the January New Releases. You can find it HERE, along with all the other sweet images. Isn't it cute? The digi comes with an empty heart so you can fill it with anything you want. I think that makes it a very versatile image. I've decorated it all up for Valentine's Day this time, and I've used a Simon Says Stamp sentiment. The flowers were just fussy cut out of one of the papers and layered up with a brad. When I showed this card to my husband, the sweet guy asked me if he could buy it FROM me to give TO me for Valentine's! lol What a romantic! Wait until he hears the price! ;o)
Take a peek at some of the cards the other girls from the Sushi Dolls Design Team have made. You'll find all of their links in my sidebar. Then head over to Sushi Dolls and pick some up for yourself. They're super fun to color! February's release is available on the 1st, so watch for some more projects coming up soon! Happy days to you all! :o)

Hymn and Scripture Challenge #17 - Sweet Hour of Prayer

Hello again, my friends!
I'm back with my final Challenge page for the 2012 Hymn and Scripture Challenge! I have finally caught up for last year, but come Sunday I'll be a page behind for this year! lol That means you'll probably be seeing one or two more pages very soon, so I hope you enjoy them! For 2013 Patter is continuing with the Hymn and Scripture Challenge. I'm really happy about that! However, my 8 1/2 X 11 album is FULL, so I'm going to switch it up a bit and try 8 1/2 inch square pages. Okay, on to today's page!
Sweet Hour of Prayer is a beautiful hymn!  It's all about prayer, and most of you know that is something that I love to do! I typed out all the words to the hymn so that you can read them easily. If it's too small to read, just keep clicking on the picture until it's big enough. For those of you who don't have the time or inclination to read the words I'll summarize: prayer is a wonderful thing! It's our way of communicating with God, and it's so much more. Oh, just read the words of the song because it says so much so well! :o)
Please read the Scripture verse on my page too. Another Scripture I wanted to use but didn't have room for is found in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18:
"Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances;
for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

Prayer is not just for asking God to do things for us, it is for praising Him and thanking Him for all His goodness to us! I could go on and on about prayer but I'll save some for the next time! lol Just remember that I pray for each one of you! :o)

Hymn & Scripture Challenge #13 - O For A Thousand Tongues To Sing

Happy Tuesday, my friends!
I'm back with one of my missed Challenge pages. After this, I have only one more left to do for 2012! :o)

This is another very familiar and favorite hymn that I love to sing! The words are beautiful and the tune is so happy! I picked a Scripture verse that relates to one of the themes that runs through the song...and that is of praising God!

There's no happier song than one that sings praises to our Lord! Although I love them all, here are some of my favorite verses:

"O for a thousand tongues to sing my great redeemers praise,
The glories of my God and King, the triumphs of His grace!

Jesus! the name that charms our fears, that bids our sorrows cease;
'Tis music in the sinner's ears, 'tis life, and health, and peace.

To God all glory, praise and love be ever, every given,
By saints below and saints above, the church in earth and heaven."

The verse I chose is found in Psalm 104:33:

"I will sing to the Lord all my life;
I will sing praise to my God as long as I live"

God is SO good! He is worthy of our praise! It's easy to remember that when things are going well for us, right? It's not always easy to think of praising God when we are suffering pain or down in the dumps. The funny thing is...when we concentrate on praising God the pain and doldrums dissipate! How wonderful is that? I hope the rest of your week us full of JOY and LAUGHTER and PRAISES to our God! :o)

Blessed With Love Mini Album - Creative Inspirations DT Project #1

Hello, my dear friends!
I'm recovering from the flu, just like so many of you have been doing! Today I was finally able to finish and photograph my latest Mini Album. This is my Design Team project for Creative Inspirations! I've entitled my album "Blessed with Love". It's my version of a Valentine Album. It's filled with tags and pockets and many spots to fill with photos of those I love, as well as quotes about love! I can't wait to fill it! I don't think I need to tell you how much fun I had...you'll see it! I have LOTS of photos for you. I did fit two pages in each photo but because I wanted you to see the front and back of all the inserts...this post is loaded. I'll have a complete list of products used at the end of the post, and just tell you a bit about what I did as we go through!
I hope you can hang in to the end! lol
Let's start with the front cover:

The base of the album is a 7gypsies Portfolio in the medium size, and red in colour.
I left the closure as it was with the black elastic. It holds it all together beautifully!
I made all the flowers in the album except the two little white ones on the cover.
These flowers have been sprayed with Perfect Pearl Mists.
I finally used my first Ornate Plate. Yup...took it out of the hoard vault! :o)

Close-up of the flowers. A little tuft of tulle under them.

The cover flips up. The first page was so pretty I only added a Tim Holtz Facet to the binding.
This is my first time using Carta Bella papers and I think they're fabulous!
Not only are they gorgeous but they're so thick and textured that there was no need for chipboard!

Here's a close-up of the Facet. I added a fussy cut bird to the back of it with Glossy Accents.

This picture shows you better how the portfolio actually opens up.
The pages were cut, inked and then bound with my Bind-It-All.
The last page is covered chipboard, and that is what is adhered to the portfolio back.
A Cinch or several rings could be used just as well.

Mini Paper Clips by Tim Holtz hold little journaling tickets to the back of most of the inserts.

This pink page is an embossed Core'dination paper.
Instead of doing any sanding I just inked it.
These are really fun papers to work with!

On this side of the pink page is a large pocket full of tags.

Another ticket on the back of the insert, and a smaller ticket in the Memo Pin that says "the best moments."

There's lots of room for lager photos on both of these pages.

I had fun with these pages.
The "5 Reasons You Make Me Happy" tag was turned into a vertical pocket.
Inside is a layered tag.

On the back of the pocket is clipped another tag. I added the stamped "a love story".
I can't do a book about love without including 1 Corinthians 13:13:
"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.
But the greatest of these is love."

More fun with dies and stamps!

Last page! A fun quote that I love...and a band full of more diecut tags! This striped paper covers the chipboard base.

There it is, my friends! So many photos but I tried not to ramble too much! ;o)
If you have any questions about anything, please ask!

With the exception of the pearls, ribbons and lace, and the silk leaves;
all of the items can be found at Creative Inspirations

Not only can they be found but they can be found very easily!
When you go to the store there is a category for "Design Team Projects" in the list.
When you click on the "Blessed With Love" tab, you will be taken to a complete listing of everything I used that is available in the store. The 7gypsies Portfolios come 2/package. They show very bright red in the store but my colours are true...it's more a burhgandy red. These make fabulous album bases and I'll be doing some more with them for sure!

Also, when you purchase $60 worth of goodies from Creative Inspirations
you can choose a wonderful free gift!

If enough people are interested in making an album like this Sue will put together a kit containing:
the paper, diecut labels, some of the diecut tags, and an assortment of the embellishments I've used.
Just leave a comment below, or email me, if that would be something you would like.

Okay, so I managed to get a bit of rambling in! lol
I had the best time making this album...I hope you enjoyed seeing it!

Sushi Dolls #1

Happy Wednesday, my friends!
I've been a very busy girl today and I finished a couple of projects. One I'm showing you now, and you'll have to wait a couple of days the see the other one.
I am so excited to now be designing for Susi aka Silly Shy Sushi! Susi has recently started designing her own digital images called Sushi Dolls. They are just the cutest digis ever! I've added a button link in my sidebar so you can all go take a look and buy some for yourself!
I used the digi called "Abby Birthday Balloons", and I think she's super cute! This image is from one of two brand new sets that Susi has just finished. One set is called Birthday and the other is called Valentine's Day. I'm not sure if they're even listed on the blog yet,  but they will be very soon! Until then you can go take a peek at Susi's previous two collections! Here's my card:
